About

My wife got a job as a Law Clerk for the High Court of American Samoa.  Last year we lived in Rhinelander, WI.  This blog is about our one-year adventure here.

Hi and thanks! Great photos. Palm trees and volcanic mountains have been two of my favorite thing since I first saw them about 20 years ago.

How’s the food? Have you found a place to get fresh fish? Do you have a grill?

    Hi Ryan and Mary,
Wow! Talk about living in Paradise. It sounds like you are doing well after your infected water incident. The pics are great! It makes me want to come visit.
    Love,
    Mom

  6. Well guys, hope you are enjoying it down in the tropics. Hannah is of at College in MO and is very busy but enjoys it. It was hot and sticky when we brought Hannah to Cottey. We have no nice sea breezes.
Love and God bless you both, Mary Neil and all

  7. I love to read about your adventures. Grandma and Grandpa come over here to read about them also.

Mary, you are a very brave woman. I probably would have been done showering if I found that thing was in there with me. Yuck.

I also enjoy reading of your many adventures. These will be life time memories as each day should be. Be safe and give thanks. With love from Wisconsin.

  9. I’m a postdoc entomologist who just moved to Tafuna from KY. Finding your blog made me feel slightly better about the termite invasion I had last night.
I’m looking forward to sticking a mosquito net over my bed.

Any luck dealing with your local roosters? Mine mesh poorly with insomnia.

It has been neat keeping up on the things you are seeing and doing. The weather sounds fantastic especially after our tough winter in the states. You both are blessed to have this time and I am praying for you and your safe return to the continental USA. Lots of love!

Wow what crazy bugs you have done there!
